For this ritual, from my upcoming new book, LIVING RITUAL, choose a special stone, crystal, or rock that is small enough to fit into your pocket and has meaning for you. Cleanse it by placing it in water under the darkness of the new moon overnight.

In the early morning, near sunrise, offer this water to the sun with a simple prayer or mantra, then release the water onto the Earth with a blessing of gratitude. Hold your cleansed stone between the hands in sankalpa mudra (holding the stone in the right hand with the left hand on top). Keep the hands together with the thumbs facing up. Whisper your purpose or auspicious intention into the hands and onto the stone.

This will be your purpose stone to remind you of your goals, intentions, dreams. And future self.

Keep the stone with you throughout the day, in your pocket, on your desk, or anywhere you will see it and remember it. Keep it with you most importantly when you go to sleep. Hold the stone in one of your hands, remembering your purpose. As you sleep, you’ll stay connected to your purpose through the stone.
